DESCRIPTION:Dr. Rhea will attend and present at International Play Association – USA’s annual conference in Greenville\, SC. \nTitle: Why adults need outdoor play as much as kids: Attitude adjustments are required! \nDescription: We always think children need outdoor play the most because it’s essential for their physical and brain development\, BUT many adults today have not had play opportunities as children and now are faced with unhealthy\, stressful lives. This presentation will focus on the adult angle and how to change behaviors of a culture\, not just a person to physically move\, get outside\, sleep uninterrupted\, and eat smart. These concepts are challenging\, but the LiiNK Project team has been studying what it takes to change these adult behaviors in order to be effective with children. These strategies will be shared and practiced.

Do you desire to make the change toward a healthier and active lifestyle? Are you interested in learning the basics of LiiNK for yourself\, your children\, or your workplace? Maybe you just want to learn how to be more playful throughout the day. \nThis training focuses on the power of play\, the power of the outdoors\, and identifying best practices for engaging in play daily. This training can be used in corporate\, school\, home\, and community settings. This training is good for all of us! \nSign up for this training here. \nThis workshop begins with approximately two hours of asynchronous pre-coursework\, followed by two 2-hr synchronous virtual sessions. The pre-course work MUST be completed one week prior to the first virtual session date in order to gain access to the virtual sessions.
