Dr. Rhea serves on the Baker Martin Family Garden Planning Committee to help design the space with a scheduled opening in 2026.
Dr. Rhea also serves on the Botanical Research Institute of Texas advisory board to help facilitate ongoing early childhood and elementary aged programs for FWBG.
LiiNK and Camp Fire have shared 1) programming strategies, 2) students who have been trained at TCU to work as Camp Fire summer camp counselors, and 3) use of camp spaces for planning sessions.
We have collaborated with Dr. Bauml each fall when she teaches an early childhood course called Creative Thinking: Play. Dr. Rhea and Dr. Bauml have collaborated for several years now focused on recess indoor kits and the COE students learning about LiiNK and how to integrate these principles into their classroom/schools when they graduate.

Dr. Rhea is one of the founders of the Global Recess Alliance. She is one of the scholars, health, and education leaders who speaks publicly about the essential nature of recess for all children through their school years, including high school. The group wrote a recess statement that can be used when fighting for recess in school settings.
Dr. Rhea serves as co-chair for the recess committee with Texas Children in Nature Network. She also does webinars from time to time with this organization and presents at their conference. LiiNK and TCiNN share outdoor play strategies regularly.
LiiNK has common goals with the US Play Coalition. We work hard together to create healthy productive play settings for children and adults. LiiNK partnered with the US Play Coalition to host a Play Day Event in Fort Worth at the FWBG this past October 2023. We focused our presentations on the PLAY people in your neighborhood. We will be highlighting each of these presentations throughout 2024.
The LiiNK mission is in line with the USA IPA organization. We disseminate research through their organization yearly. Dr. Rhea is collaborating with the IPA to write a book focused on different USA recess/play research that can be translated into evidenced based practices for children and adults. This book should be published by early 2025.
We support the following organizations and will continue to add to this list any organization that we believe uses natural landscape ideas to create great play spaces for children.
